A picture I originally drew on my Majorca Holiday in July/August

(Where I have been? Oh lordy lordy. I'll give you guys the info in an upcoming journal...)

So, going back to the 29th July. I'm sat in a villa in Majorca soaking up the sun with my sketchbook and pencil. I doodle a classic Robotnik in his EggMobile pointing at...something, then over time I add Sonic, some badniks, a loop, the sun, some clouds, a background and out of nowhere I have a new picture. I was pretty damn proud of what I had done and as soon as I came home I got onto Photoshop and started work.

That was Early August, it's now early October and I'm still going. I'm almost done though, there just needs to be a Motobug to Sonic's left and then I gotta work out some shading technique to match with what's already been done.

Yeah, this is my current pièce de résistance <3.

EDIT: Motobug's now been added to the piece as you can see, I've also thrown in some new shading pieces (most notably the clouds). I'm still in limbo on whether I should shade Sonic, Robotnik and the Badniks...and then how to shade them. Any pointers or suggestions are appreciated

EDIT 2: I've gone an put some shading into the characters now, I had always wanted to somehow give it more depth, I think this really did the job. I might put some highlights in as well but I'm not sure yet.

EDIT 3: Wednesday February 17th 2010, 9 months since the first sketch I can finally say I'm done.

This is truly amazing and phenomenal! I really love all the tiny colourful details with the characters and the background!

I love the colouring, the shadings and highlights, the tiny details, the background with the scene of Green Hill Zone and the sky with the sun and the clouds, the perfection and professionalism in this!
